Two years ago, I stumbled upon this BBQ joint during a trip to California, and let me tell you, it was a game-changer. I'm from Denver and have never been a big fan of California, but this place is making me reconsider. I've been dreaming about their food ever since and am genuinely contemplating another trip back just to experience it all over again. The meat here is incredible--juicy, tender, and cooked to perfection. The beans have a fantastic smoky flavor that complements the meat perfectly, and the sweet potatoes? They are absolutely to die for. My mouth is watering just thinking about them! The service was okay overall. It wasn't particularly outstanding, but it wasn't terrible either. Things went smoothly enough, and there weren't any major issues, but nothing really stood out as exceptional. However, what adds to the charm of this place is the vibe. It's laid-back, with an awesome axe-throwing area where you can hang out and have some fun while you wait for your food or after you're done eating. It's the perfect spot for a great meal and a good time. If you're ever in California, do yourself a favor and make sure to stop by. You won't regret it!

My wife & I came here for dinner on a recent Saturday evening after seeing a performance at the nearby Lesher Center.  When we walked in, the place was decently packed, but we were able to get a table inside right away.  (Based on some of the conversations at the tables around us, many of the patrons just got out of the same show we did).  When we asked the server, we found out they were already out of the beef ribs and the brisket burnt ends (it was already past 8:00 PM).  So we settled on the beef brisket and pork ribs meal for me (with cornbread and chili as my sides) and the pulled pork and pork belly burnt ends for her (with potato salad and mac & cheese).   At our table were a selection of 4 different BBQ sauces:  The Tin Roof (Kansas City style), the Hot Tin Roof (spicy version), Pig Candy (sweet and tangy) and the Georgia Gold (tangy mustard based).  There was also ketchup at the table.   After a short period of time, our food came out.   The portions were quite big, with 4 slices of brisket and 4 bones on my ribs.  The brisket was fine, but a dip in one of the sauces helped.  My favorite with it was the Pig Candy, though the regular Tin Roof was good, too.  The ribs were my favorite; the glaze on it was sweet, but not too sticky, so they didn't need any additional sauce.  The chili was spicy and very meaty, and the cornbread was a good contrast in flavor, though a little bit crumbly.   My wife's meal was good, too.  She loved the pulled pork, especially with a little drizzle of the Georgia Gold sauce on top.  She did enjoy the pork belly burnt ends, but they were a bit fatty, so they are not for everyone.  She liked the mac & cheese more than the potato salad, which I ended up eating more of. In the end, I took home half of the brisket, 2 of the ribs, along with the remainder of the potato salad to enjoy for lunch the next day.  The next time we see a show at the Lesher, we'll have an early dinner so we can try out the beef ribs and the brisket burnt ends.

First time trying this restaurant. It got recommended by a friend since they have an axe throwing activity inside! I believe it's $15 for 30 mins... Sadly I wasn't able to play since I was wearing sandals (closed toe shoes only). The food is pretty good... you can really taste the smokeyness from the meat. I liked the chicken a lot since I'm not really a super big fan of BBQ sauce. I also really liked their dry rub wings. Parking can be hard... my favorite is the indoor ambiance inside!
